Philip Morris International (PM) the world’s largest transnational tobacco company is also the leading tobacco company in terms of market share in Indonesia. The company sells both kreteks and white cigarettes. The company was established in the country for 30 years.

PT. Djarum is one of Indonesia’s top three producers of kretek cigarettes, the dominant form of cigarettes sold in a country. Indonesia ranks among the top ten countries with the highest number of smokers.

Gudang Garam, headquarter is located in Kediri. Its cigarettes are sold in Malaysia, the US, Japan, Germany, France, Brunei Darussalam, Netherlands, Australia, Taiwan, and United Arab Emirates.

British American Tobacco (BAT) has acquired Bentoel Group (Indonesia’s fourth largest tobacco company) since 2010. The company has about 8% market shares in the country.
